Antonopoulos Vineyards is a creation of Konstantinos Antonopoulos, a man who believed in the extraordinary quality of the Peloponnese soil and particularly the mountainous and semi-mountainous Achaia, giving an efford to make superior quality wine production areas.
A new, modern winery recently built in Vasiliko in Achaia destrict, where are the main vineyards of the company. The vineyards extend in the region of Achaia in altitudes ranging from 150-900 meters. The Antonopoulos Vineyards use many hectars of vineyards in the Peloponnese, some of which are proprietary and some belonging to wine growers who permanently cooperate with the winery for many years, following cultivation instructions of the agronomists.
The main concern of the winery is the need of unique indigenous varieties of Greece creating in the same time high-quality products coming from international varieties. The winery produces white and red wines at a ratio of 80-20%. The white is elegant and aromatic, with intense acidity that easily combined with a wide variety of foods.
Some characteristic white wines are: Mantinia, Adoli Gi, Gris de noir, Chardonnay, Malagouzia. In red, stand out the New Oak, Private Collection, Morpheus (Mavrodafni) and Gerontoklima Rematia (Vertzami), which combine pure fruit and spicy aromas.
Vision of the people of Vineyards Antonopoulos was always exploring the dynamics of indigenous varieties of Greece. They believe that the Greek vineyard, can combines all the elements necessary for producing world-class wines and therefore they keep on working on it.
