To the south, on the Kyparissiakos golf, there are over 45 km. of exotic beach called Kakovatos, which starts from Epitalio village and ends at Kalo Nero village, a hallmark unique ecosystem of Caiaphas to the lake, the pine forest of Strofilia and historic mountain Lapitha .
In previous years, the Kakovatos beach and the Kato Samiko, Zacharo village and Giannitsochori village distinguished for their waves and the surfers gathering there, where the beach parties and the loud music were taking place for years. Today is quiet in Kakovatos and the only remaining canteen is next to “Mouries”, the oldest tavern of the area, which offers coffee and refreshments accompanied by music in low tones.
The owner Nikos Korovesis sets the tone of this change: “You will come to our area for our marvelous beach, fresh fish and good homemade food with fresh local ingredients and relaxing family vacation. We offer umbrellas and loungers on the beach, which we are free of charge to our customers. To the left and to the right of the beach you can do even free camping.
In general the village will definitely find something that suits you: There are greek music clubs around and cafes and bars with jazz-lounge music so you can relax by enjoying your drink.
Before leaving the coast of Elis, do not miss to visit Katakolon village. Though there is a lack of touristic facilitiies there is a picturesque harbor and has a beautiful blue water beach where you can swim, good fish restaurants and more.
